Homecoming is always one of the most memorable events during the year and this one was definitely one for the books! This year we paired up with Phi Sigma Kappa for a week filled with trivia, can drives and so much more. Kunnica Kou has earned this week's Fabulous Phi because of her tireless effort of organizing our Homecoming Events and excelling in making sure our sisters had a great time! Whether killing it in soccer intramural's, or putting together amazing social events for our chapter she always has a smile on her face and cheering everyone up. Read below to get to know KuKu and see how she is such an important part of our chapter!
1. What year are you and what is your major?
I am a junior, my major is Community Health-Clinical science
2. Where do you call home?
I consider home a lot of places; I think you can find homes in people too. Annandale, Virginia is where I grew up, The Phi Hole is my home now and my home is also among all my sisters.
3. What are 3 words that describe yourself?
Funny, hardworking and sleepy
4. Can you talk about your position within Alpha Phi and how it has impacted your collegiate career?
I wanted to be Social Chair right before I was even an initiated sister back in the Fall of 2014. I am so honored to be working along side an amazing VP of Risk, Director of Watchcare and my assistant. This position has showed me how to truly put my chapter before myself. I never realized how much I was willing to do for my sisters until my first event (Homecoming) as the social chair. It was very tiring but I would do it all again for each and every one of them.
5. What are you most fond of about Greek Life?
Before college, I never saw myself as a sorority type of girl. Greek life has changed that for me, I love all the fun aspects like date functions and philanthropy events but I also love all the relationships I have made. I know I will be friends with a lot of these people for years to come.
6. What made you choose Alpha Phi?
I didn’t have to question whether I felt like I belonged, I just knew I did.
7. What advice do you have for the incoming freshman about making the most of Mason?
Getting good grades is important but also making friendships is equally as important. As cliché as it sounds your friends in college will get you through a lot of the hardships in life. Also, your family will always care about you, call them.
8. What is your favorite event of Alpha Phi?
Alpha Phifa, I recently learned how to play soccer and it has become my most favorite thing!
9. What is your favorite quote?
“Sail away from the safe harbor” My little who is my best friend, has this tattooed on her and I try to live by this in everyday activities, even little ones.
10. What is an unexpected fact about yourself?
I love taking care of my hair. I am a total hair junkie, I spend an ample amount of money on hair products such as expensive shampoos and conditioners.
